Dr. Andrew Pavelescu is a trusted and reliable foot and ankle surgeon with extensive training in all aspects of forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery including trauma, sports medicine and arthroscopy, pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery, external (frame) fixation techniques, limb salvage, as well as wound and diabetic foot care.
Dr. Pavelescu completed his residency training in the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian, an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College. In addition to his residency, Dr. Pavelescu received supplemental training at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, in Baltimore, in lower limb deformity correction as well as advanced training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, by the AO Foundation.
He earned his medical degree from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, in Cleveland, where he was awarded with the Presidential Scholarship and earned distinction as a member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class. Dr. Pavelescu received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Wayne State University, in Detroit, where he was recognized on the dean's list.
During his undergraduate and graduate schooling, Dr. Pavelescu has been actively involved in teaching and education and as a result he continues to actively participate in resident education and lecturing.Metropolitan Foot Group
